Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I averaged 13.8mph for the 47 mile trip with 6000ft of climbing...i want to show the elevation profile but im not sure how...i uploaded it to bikely and routeslip..you could view it there...is someone could make the elevation profile for me, that be awesome!

On the upside, those descents look fun.

Very nice. 13.8mph is very good on those hills. I struggle to keep 11 on weenie ones.

Nice job!, I too have been in a hill climbing mood lately. On 7/17 did just over 6,100ft in 23 miles, Then did 3,653ft in 11 miles on the 19th. I will say that my ave speed was most likely to slower than yours. Was able to reach 24,817ft for the week. I think any time your at 100+ft/mile it is a hard ride, congrats!

I mean 11mph was my average!

On hills that big, I'd probably be badass and go 18mph for 100 feet, then get tired and head home.
