Montana laws for cyclists?

I'll be there at the end of the month. I'm curious if anyone can point me to a summary of their traffic laws as they apply to cyclists on public roads. Any funky surprises await in that department?

I just completed a one week ride through NW Montana (starting in Whitefish and circling up to Eureka and back).

All I can say there apparently are no laws as pretaining to cyclists - motorist either.

It was by far, the scariest darn ride I've ever done and I don't see myself going back there anything soon. My experience is that the country roads are narrow, without a shoulder, or if there is a shoulder, there is a rumblestrip. Traffic is very heavy. No one drives cars - everyone has at least a F350 and most are towing trailers or boats. Of course, there are the 3 trailer logging rigs to contend with.

Cyclist ride knowing they can be struck and killed any moment. Ride cautiously, try to get off the main
roads as much as possible and use a mirror. Another recommendation - use wider tires - at least 25 - 28 as the roads are mainly chipseal.

Good luck may the force be with you!

Thanx for the link!

BCI: that's where I'll be. What roads were you on that the traffic was an issue. The surface conditions I'm used to, as they come with the latitude.
