Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Dinotte seems to be the best tail light, but I would be riding only 3-4 hours / week early in the mornings pre dawn... I am not sure if this would justify the price.

+1 to the Blackburn Mars 3.0

Its kind of hard to ride behind someone who is running one. Needless to say, I've got one myself and my girlfriend has one too. I'll never ride any other taillight as long as this one is made.

I think being 'not dead' is worth any price, or maybe I'm just old fashioned.

'Best' and 'brightest' aren't always the same thing. Some folks always want bigger and brighter.

The Superflash is quite visible, even from a long distance, and the batteries will last a lot longer between charges than the Dinotte's. The Superflash also comes with a decent mount, which the DiNotte doesn't. Most folks end up having to make their own mount for the DiNotte.

This is a good point, dinotte doesn't come with a good mount.

There are many options for mounting the Dinotte.

Just bought a Superflash. Crazy bright, even more than the big Cateye from a couple of years ago.

+1 for this recommendation.

Basically you can use any velcro band, mine with the d-link came with a cygolite dual cross battery pack as a spare.

Using a Blackburn Mars 3.

Bright, several modes, good mount, batteries last a long time.

I also just ordered a Dinotte tail light. The manufacturer now has a new mount available which attaches to the seat post.

I however prefer the flexibilty of this product to mount the light to the frame:

so, you went from asking about a $15 entry level tail light to purchasing a $115 high end tail light, why did you even bother asking about the Blinky 3?
