Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Info and opinions appreciated: Chorus "LTD" group

Hi

I'm in the market for a new group as the first step of my "upgrade plan" (a new frame will be purchased in february or march). I'm thinking of buying either the DuraAce group (with the R700 crankset...I really need a compact) from ProBikeKit (for about $850) or something another online dealer calls a Chorus LTD for the exact same price.

The thing is I do not know much about this "LTD" group. I will be choosing the compact crankset here as well. I think it is just a bundle of some new and some "old" (06) components but maybe you can help me identify waht it really is:

-Chorus rear derailleur short cage
-Chorus Ergopower levers with cable and casings
-Chorus front changer, braze on
-Chorus 10s casette 13-26
-Chorus 06 carbon crankset 52/39 172,5 mm
-Chorus 06 bottom bracket BSA or Ital
-Chorus 06 brakes
-Chorus Ultra Narrow chain
(39/52-172,5, CT 34/48,34/50 ,36/50-170,172,5 or 175mm)

So my questions are:

1. How does it differ from the "current" Chorus group?
2. Does these differences matter?
3. Would you choose this Chorus group or the DuraAce and why?

Best regards
