Wheel hubs/bearings and Momentum
Pardon what might be an dumb inquiry, but I've wondered why I often find myself gaining on riders while coasting. The other riders have been a mix of heavier and lighter, they are on similar 23mm tires (though I don't know their PSI), their frame/components vary, and they are not applying the brakes. That said, to what extent do wheel bearings and other wheel components play a role in slowing down a coasting cyclist?

I weigh approx 159lbs.
I ride on a pair of 28 hole, DT Swiss R.1.1 rims, using Mike Garcia's (www.oddsandendos.com) Speedcific hubs. The total weight on the set up is approx. 1535g.
Others have been on everything from Mavic Elites/Equipes to equivalent Shimano and Eastons. Probably some higher-end ones in there too, but I can't recall.
