Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Homemade Accelerade

Yeah it rhymes.

I took some orange gatorade and some cheap orange-flavored whey protein (just a small amount) and mixed it and it seems to perform just as well on rides. Warning: it tastes the same, which I think is absolutely horrible. Just thought id share. Real accelerade is pretty expensive.

That is all.

Doesn't Accelerade also have an acid buffer? Like sodium bicarb or potassium citrate?

How about:

2 parts Gatorade
1 part ground up cooked hamburger meat
1 part ground up chalk

This would probably taste better too.

Gatorade has HFCS.

I thought for sure I read somewhere that soy protein is best used during exercise and whey protein after exercise. If so, why is Accelerade using whey?

You forgot to filter it through a dirty pair socks to make sure it has the correct flavor.

I'm curious about this as well. From one of the older guys on my team before he droped the hammer on me.

Any one know the difference between Accelerade advanced and the original Accelerade? Are they phasing the old one out?

Does it also smell like a dead rat if it sits around for a couple days? Also, try adding Elmers glue to duplicate the absolute stickiness...
