pro bike kit shipping timetable?

I ordered shoes and pedals from pro bike kit about 2 week ago and I never received any shipping information. The items were in stock and I paid in full. Approximately when would they arrive in sacramento CA? Ballpark figures; I'm getting tired of checking for delivery and finding an empty front porch.

Shoot them an e-mail, they are somewhat responsive. I ordered a Campy groupset about 1 1/2 months ago, they forgot the rear derailler. It took one week for the first package (minus derailler) and about three extra weeks for the derailler.

I have ordered a few times before and they always come in a week. I live in Los Angeles.

i can confirm that they are prompt on their delivery. However, I'm not sure about their response time.
I order a pair of shoes and pedals and sent them numerous email asking for tracking #'s or something to trace the shipment. They never response to me..but today I got my package. It took approx 10 bus. days. to get to LA, CA
Hope that will help.

They don't have a tracking system.

Your very patient. I don't know the quality of the US mail system, but in OZ if the parcel is sent and delivered in the same state I would expect 24 - 48 hours delivery, interstate and I'd expect 48 - 72 hrs. Longer than that and they don't get repeat business.

I'd rather pay a bit extra and get quality service than save a few bucks and get crap service like this.

Personally if I had to wait 2 weeks and wasn't getting a response from the supplier I would Initiate a fraud investigation with my credit card company.

Thanks for the replies. I sent them an email. In retrospect I could have paid another 10-20% and already had my gear from a N. American retailer.
Patience...Patience. I just hope the "pleasure delay effect" will make the pedal and shoes seem all the better.

I was about to order from them, but I hesitated because of the ship times. Maybe I won't.

I ordered things last week from Easton and from ProCycleGear.com and both packages arrived within 2 days, USPS priority mail. Maybe I'll stick with that.

According to their website the wait time for orders outside the UK can be up to 28 days.
Previous orders I've gotten within a week or two to Australia.
I did put in an order a bit over two weeks ago and haven't recieved anything yet. Unfortunately, I don't imagine they'll do much or bother replying until the 28 days is up.

I have ordered a lot of items from PBK over the least year or so. They usually take 5 business days to get to me in "Chicago". Occassionally less. Sometimes as much as 10 business days.

With PBK you kind of "fire and forget." Luckily I haven't yet known the items to simply just not come.

Live in Chicago LAND also..PBK has never taken longer than a week.

I've had three transactions with PBK...first took 7 days, second took 6 days, third took 5 days. The second one included a holiday weekend, as I recall. I can't complain.

If your delivery has taken two weeks or more, something is amiss. I exchanged emails with the customer service folks there once, they responded (and fixed my issue) the same day.

cuski 08-15-07 10:41 AM

It's very likely your parcel is stuck in customs. PBK usually ships the very next day after you place the order.

grebletie 08-15-07 11:20 AM

Have ordered an item on Monday and received it by Friday in California. Also had an order go missing, and they were good about sending out a new one.

The order eventually arrived three months later. Part of the shipping label had broken off, and it had taken USPS a while to figure out where it was going.

TCR 08-15-07 12:23 PM

I've had orders make it within a week and I've had one that took 15 days. I placed an order this morning and much to my surprise I just got an email stating they have already shipped it.

Part of the fun of buying from PBK is waiting for the mailman to deliver the blue bag. :)

+1 - the other part of the fun is knowing you just scored a deal that is better than just about anything Stateside in the process....and it's real...with no catch.

From Probikekit.com:

"The UK postal strikes in July & August are continuing to cause some delay to orders placed in that time period and shortly after. According to Royal Mail there is a current backlog of approximately 80,000 parcels but they hope to clear it soon.

If your order appears to be late then please allow a little extra time before contacting us to report a missing delivery.

We are sorry if you have been affected by the industrial action but at this point all we can do is hope the backlog will be quickly dealt with by Royal Mail."

I ordered a Selev Matrix helmet last wednesday afternoon (my time), I got the helmet the following Tuesday. This was my second time I've used PBK and both times I received the items within a few days.

1 placed 2 separate orders a month or so ago, and for the first order I never got an "order shipped" email, and it seemed to be taking a while. I sent them an email, and the package happened to show up when I got home. The second order was a little faster. I like their prices, and I'm not in a rush for anything, so I'll keep buying from them. If it was urgent, I would shop elsewhere.

alainp 08-15-07 02:54 PM

I placed my first order with PBK on a Sunday, which included tires and miscellaneous accessories, and it arrived in the mail the following Saturday. I was pretty impressed with the shipping time. However, they don't seem to respond at all to any inquiries regarding the order or shipping times. However, when I shot them an email stating they forgot to include one small item, they responded within 24 hours in a very apologetically tone.

grahny 08-15-07 02:57 PM

You have to call them to get a response, but I've had shipments take anywhere from 4-28 days. I usually get an email within a couple of days though saying items have shipped.

law_in_motion 08-15-07 03:19 PM

I ordered the DA groupset on 8/8 and would have received it yesterday (8/14) had I been home. Instead, I picked up my package this morning (8/15) from the local post office. I live in San Jose, CA. This was my first PBK order.

Bacchusbill 08-15-07 03:32 PM

I ordered on 7/6/07 and received the shipped email a day later. After 35 days, I inquired about the order and was told that they were marking it as lost in post, and resending it.

grebletie 08-16-07 12:48 PM

Update: PBK = Still awesome

Ordered a saddle and chain on Monday (8/13) and received them in California on Thursday (8/16).

krtassoc 08-16-07 03:54 PM

Ordered Sidi Genius last Saturday evening......received the shoes this morning (San Diego, CA.). Great service.....and the price simply cannot be beat by any US-based source!

Lol. Way to go dude.

Probikekit is in the UK. Sacramento is in the U.S. Any other boasts about your fantastic mail delivery service? Or did you just want to write garbage.
