Help decided on bike and crank set...
i road a fuji orb pro, alum frame, carbon fork and stays it has a double, it also felt sluggish up this small grade, i think the bike ways half of the weight of the mountian bike I am using now, then there is this fuji carbon frame bike... I do not know why it catches my eye, maybe it is the color of the seat and tape, both white on a yellow, black and silver frame..... so i ride it I like it, but have some questions....
When i ride the cross it fits, it is a 54.... when i ride the fuji red and white with cfrm and stays it fits 54.. when i ride the carbon frame it is a 56, it fits, but i am slightly touch the meaty spot, maybe an inch of clearance the 54 rob pro, when on the hoods or bars I can not see the hub, when on the carbon 56, I see the hub behind the bars and when in the drops, i can not see it... I feel good or better I guess in riding the 56, but since, now comes the price issue and all the extras... clipless pedals, shoes tools etc.... http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../maybemine.jpg FRAMESET: High Modulus C4 Carbon w/12K Custom Weave Carbon Strands, integrated aluminum cupped head tube, shaped ride tuned Energy Transfer Chainstay, replaceable hanger FORK: FC-770 Fuji Bonded Carbon Integrated w/ 1 1/8" Alloy Steerer DRIVETRAIN: FSA Gossamer MegaExo crankset, w/Integrated spindle, 7075 CNC 34/50T, Shimano Ultegra rear/105 front derailleur WHEELSET: Shimano R-500 FEATURES: Fuji UltraLite 6061 Double Butted, 31.8mm w/anatomical drops, Pro UltraLlite forged alloy stem, ProLite forged alloy seatpost, Selle San Marco Ponza SE saddle SIZES: 49cm, 52cm, 54cm, 56cm, 58cm, 61cm COLOR: Silver, yellow, white carbon finish WEIGHT: 17.9 lbs / 8.1 kg MSRP (USD): $2,100.00 How much so one pay for this bike on clearance at year end... Is this a good bike or is the specialized a better bike? Also looking at this one, http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1...ybethisred.jpg FRAMESET: High Modulus C4 Carbon w/12K Custom Weave Carbon Strands, integrated aluminum cupped head tube, curved seat stays, shaped ride tuned Energy Transfer Chainstay FORK: FC-770 Fuji Bonded Carbon Integrated w/ 1 1/8" Alloy Steerer DRIVETRAIN: FSA Omega MegaExo Triple crankset, w/Integrated spindle, 30/39/50T Alloy outer/middle chainrings, Shimano Tiagra front/105 rear derailleur, STI 27-speed WHEELSET: Formula CXR-6, 700c clincher FEATURES: Fuji UltraLite 6061 Double Butted, 31.8mm road bars w/anatomical drops, Fuji PROLITE AL 3D forged stem, Fuji PROLITE Alloy seatpost, Fuji RaceLite saddle, Wellgo WPD-823 Clipless SIZES: 47cm, 50cm, 53cm, 55cm, 58cm COLOR: red, black carbon finish WEIGHT: 20 lbs / 9.0 kg MSRP (USD): $1,800.00 or this cross http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1...4maybethis.jpg please help as i near a decission.... Also I tried switching to a 12-27 cog set and it seemed to make it a little better going up hill... So if I go with the cross and switch the cogs and crank to a compact would that give me a close level of proformance... i am trying to get the best price.... I think i can get the cross and the red fuji for close to a gramnd but the other is a little higher... I also noticed they may have down graded some of the components on the fuji team.....from da to ult... So I need a climber, but still want to run wide out on the flats.... so if I get in better shap will a double be fine or should I really be looking at a triple********** the compact was okay, but a triple is better for climbing isn't it? I am really trying to shead weight at an excelerated pace, already down 15+ in two weeks and feel that I might drop anoth 15+ in the next 3-4 weeks but then ... what do you all use? I see folks out all the time and I have not had a chance to talk with all of them but am slowly approaching the locals and asking.....???'s. But I feel that maybe this is the best way to gather information is to ask the experts/senior members here. Please help me become a better rider and make the right choice on my first true road bike.... |
