training advise
hi all, i would like to start putting in about an hour on my trainer every night after work. im out to build power as my cadence is high enough as is. can you guys recommend me a good training regiment for building power? and would you guys suggest that i train every night or should i be training every other night or should i train for power one night and do a recovery ride the next? please be as specific as possible. im on a ten speed setup with a kurt kinetic road machine. thx for ANY help.

The best thing you can do is pick up the Cyclists Training Bible by Joe Friel. It will give you a great list of workouts.

Power? Sprints. 15s, explosive, all out.
Can't do them on any trainer I've ever seen. |
It sounds like you want to build strength more than power. Power depends on cadence and torque, and it sounds like you've got the cadence down.
Maybe you could look into a fixie for developing strength, or doing weights. |
There are Spinervals DVDs for just about every kind of cycling/fitness development. The routines are rated for pain and suffering - and they know just what it takes to kill you.
