I could be fraud protection as this post was made at 3am (according to the time I'm seeing). Perhaps the CC company doesn't think one should shop for bikes at 3 am. I got a call once when I ordered a side rear view mirror from a junkyard in West Virgina. It was my CC company asking if I approve the purchase. I thought it was funny but appreciated the check.

Also, how much was the girlfriend's gift? If a car that normally gets low amounts suddenly sees a few expensive purchases, that throws a flag.

We recently were in the USA - and were making purchases. After a short time, the refused our credit card, after all, we normally live in Costa Rica.
We have found as we move around we have to let the Credit Card companies know or they get pretty nervous. |

1/3 ct certified diamond ear rings. it turns out that BD is and isn't the problem. the CC flags any large purchase that uses paypal billing as the source.

Sometimes just as a preventative measure, CC companies will request a call in. Sometimes it is completely random, and they do it as a safety measure to prevent any fraud or suspicious purchases.
I wouldn't blame BD for this one, just call your card company, explain to them, and they can pre-authorize you. |
your signature, "regrets last longer than pain". what if you break your fibula, have surgery to have a plate installed and will miss 3 century rides (one timed) and a 12 hour MTB race? Oh yeah and miss your yearly mileage goal by 1400 miles?
Yes, I broke it MTB riding.
