Attn Small Dudes

Why don't you eat something? You think you're so cool because you can ride lighter rims than me? Well you're not.

And you short guys - Grow up. I could ride a smaller frame to save weight too. I just choose not too. Smug sob's.

urbanknight 08-27-07 04:39 PM

5'11" 155 lb and I eat at least 4,000 calories per day :p

5'4" I used to be 160lbs. now I'm 148lbs. I just eat when ever I'm hungry :p...

vantassell 08-27-07 04:44 PM

I don't think they get it.... look at the other thread.

urbanknight 08-27-07 04:45 PM

Oh I know this is a spinoff from the ATTN Big Dudes thread, but any time I can flaunt my metabolism is a welcomed opportunity. It won't last forever, or so my father says.

vantassell 08-27-07 04:50 PM

ahhh, tuche

I'd sing a Randy Newman song (but it's illegal here in MD)

samsation7 08-27-07 05:01 PM

Ha ha. The bike industry discriminates against anyone over 180 lbs. At least that's my theory. Yes, I can ride superlite rims and never need to true my wheels.:) Sucks to be you!

Longfemur 08-27-07 05:01 PM

The only advantage I've ever had in sports of any kind is when I go up a hill on a bike. I make the most of it. Makes up for all those times I was picked last after even the girls in school :-)

5'2", 125 lbs most of my life, but I do have to watch my diet nowadays. That happens when you get to be 40 or 50.

permanentjaun 08-27-07 05:15 PM

Ha - Randy Newman is hilarious

Short People got no reason
Short People got no reason
Short People got no reason
To live

They got little hands
And little eyes
And they walk around
Tellin' great big lies
They got little noses
And tiny little teeth
They wear platform shoes
On their nasty little feet

Well, I don't want no Short People
Don't want no Short People
Don't want no Short People
Round here

Short People are just the same
As you and I
(A Fool Such As I)
All men are brothers
Until the day they die
(It's A Wonderful World)

Short People got nobody
Short People got nobody
Short People got nobody
To love

They got little baby legs
And they stand so low
You got to pick 'em up
Just to say hello
They got little cars
That go beep, beep, beep
They got little voices
Goin' peep, peep, peep
They got grubby little fingers
And dirty little minds
They're gonna get you every time
Well, I don't want no Short People
Don't want no Short People
Don't want no Short People
'Round here

You know, after years of getting pushed around playing hockey and football in high school, never getting to bat in the cleanup spot no matter how far or hard I could hit the ball in baseball, and not even attempting to play basketball, I really find pleasure in passing a big guy on a hill. I like to give them the same pathetic 'you don't belong here' look that I got from big guys who knocked me on my butt when I would get in front of the net playing hockey.

And I like the fact that I only have to true my '185 lb maximum' wheels once every 2 years.

I'm really just kidding, I'm not really bitter, and I don't really give people dirty looks for being big, but it is fun to have a sport where my size is an advantage.

merlinextraligh 08-27-07 06:24 PM

still pays to be big in a flat crit. I usually get the wheel I want, and folks that bump into me intentionally or otherwise, just bounce off.

I do like living, and racing , where its flat.

How much does an extra 40 lbs help in battling a crosswind you guys think?

It helps me a lot when I am drafting you.

pelotonracer 08-27-07 06:38 PM

Someone beat you up a hill lately?

GuitarWizard 08-27-07 06:45 PM

Hmmmm.....I'm 5'7", and now hovering around 140 pounds....and I don't exactly starve myself to death either. I really don't want to go any lower though....well, I wouldn't mind losing a little extra fat, but gaining a little extra muscle also.

+1. But I can beat a 125 pound guy up steep hills but he kills me on less steep hills. Wierd.

permanentjaun 08-27-07 06:47 PM

F yea, I got the droping hammer on my side
