How thin are your shorts?

My gan shorts are very thin and comfortable. I have other black shorts that I don't like are thick and uncomfortable. Are most shorts really thin and light?

ugh... different shorts with different fabrics have different qualities. Isn't it past your bedtime?

Not all shorts are thin and light...there are shorts out there that are thick and light too.
It all depends on the company who's making your shorts. The whole thick or thin thing can be due to the materials they use. How the materials are woven together and applied together when they are stitching up the product.
I could be wrong you could prob pop off an email to the company that makes the shorts you're wearing and see what they have to say about it.
I have some Bib shorts that are light and thin that I normally wear when the weather's above 65f. Then I have some bib shorts that the material feels a bit thicker but are still light. This bib’s I tend to wear when it's below 65f.

have you been inhaling rim cement?

desert_tortoise 08-28-07 01:07 AM

I have thin shorts and medium thickness shorts.

More importantly, how thick is your chamois, Ryanf? How thick is Jan's chamois?

I have a couple of pairs of Nalinis that are thin and feel like a second skin. COOOL! :)

I'd say most knicks are not like this. 'Word' is that thinner shorts don't last nearly as long.

I have a grey pair of TDJ shorts. Quite comfortable. Yet, dark enough that you don't have to worry about plumbers crack. I hate that . Watch out for older black shorts. Take a look in the mirror as even black shorts age. With age all shorts can reveal more than one desires. There can be really thick black shorts, that I feel retains moisture more than I'd like. Not so with the TDJ shorts.

my reason for worry of thin shorts. My bike club. They designed our new club kit , that club members are supposed to wear on club rides . There is a narrow yellow band across one's backside; with contrasting print of our clubs name. that yellow band is a little thin ; so the outline of our arses is a little obvious. But , luckily that thin yellow band is only like one inch in width. You join a club, you might try to influence their club kit design. Well, we likely will have a new club kit next year. Since my club kit cost over 90 dollars , guess I gotta wear it.

I thought they were imaginary, like his aero bars.

I don't wear thin or light colored shorts, and the people I ride with appreciate that.

gear 08-28-07 08:39 AM

Mine are pretty thin but they could still stand to lose some weight.

Black shorts? I thought you were too elite to be wearing such common garb.

I have an idea though... instead of using your recess time to post stupid questions on BF, try playing with the other kids a little more. You might eventually learn how a meaningful discussion starts.

I had some blue Biemme bibs for a while that were fine when I was on the bike, but standing up the crotch became almost transparent. I mean like being able to count hairs.

This sounds like a logic or SAT quesiton, which considering the source, is very ironic.

Either way, this one is waaaaaaayyyy far down on the useless scale compared to most of your "not as useless but useless nonetheless" threads.

calfee5 08-29-07 10:56 AM

if you remove the chamois altogether the shorts will be lighter and you'll climb faster.

Speaking of "seeing right through", I was behind a guy once wearing very thin shorts. You could see right through them. It was not a pretty sight...
