outside mag, performance bike. liars.
Hey,
Did anyone else place an order with Perf. Bike around the time they were offering a free subscription to outside Magazine? I did, when I didn't receive it after three months I called up and left them know, they said to call back if I didn't receive it within a month.I didn't receive it so I called back again, only to be told that I did not place a big enough order with them at that time to receive the subscription!! This from the same lady, Betty, who remembers speaking to me previously and was the one that said to call back again. Now she says I am not entitled to it, SIX MONTHS LATER!!!
I can't believe thay can pull a stunt like this. It turns me off them completely.
Did anyone else place an order at that time?
I'm going to go through my Bank records and prove that I did place an order over $100 at the time.
I will never buy from them again out of principle

Yes, I'm cheap because I expect a company to live up to their word!
This is how cheap I am, I was once overcharged $13 by a phone company, I took a day off work, costing me $175, I spent it on the phone to them, costing them a days pay for an employee that would be better served doing something else, I got my $13 and nothing like that has happened again.
In this country let a $20 overcharge go-it's just $20 right? If they do that to 10000 people , it's $200,000.
That is the way these companies think. Even if they give it back to 1/4 of the people who file a dispute they still make $150,000. It's the principle of the thing at the start, then it becomes about standing up for your rights as a consumer, to receive what was described in your purchase.

It's just money.
Besides Outside isn't all that great of a magazine anyway.

If 10,000 people take the day off @ $175 a day and also cost the phone company 10,000 employee days, it costs the economy like 9/11 x 26931 dollars! Why do you hate our economy? I wonder what you're like when the toy in your breakfast cereal is missing.

I get bicycling mag inconsistently. Missing one for the past 2 months but have the ones before. (I signed up in March)
Unfortunately I do get outdoor mag consistently. Don't really like it.

yes, I guess I do have anger issues.
I wasn't a cyclist when I took the day off work, that was before I had the benefit of anger/stress relief from cycling.
I know it's only money, I have no problem blowing $1000 on a set of wheels, but I hate to have a fast one pulled on me. I am working on it. Gettin a different perspective always helps, I am a work in progress. I guess I'll try and let it go.
Thanks for all the input, I actually feel better about it.

Maybe then companies would realise they have to actually be honest or they are going to cost the economy money. Or they could just be like the employees @ ENRON and just take everyones money and say, "oh well, what are you gonna do? it happens, just forget about it" lol

Cycling really does help with the stress relief too, whenever I am off the bike for awhile I begin to notice the changes. It isn't pretty.
