I just bought the Doss 6600 Bianchi MTB and love it. Allsome bike!

Thank you for welcoming me. I'll be going in for a pro fit soon. Even so, the bike fits me pretty well as is. I have to admit that this bike is a big much for me right now. I wanted something that I will grow into (as opposed to the hybrid which I outgrew in 6 months). I've set speed and distance goals for myself, but of equal importance is enjoying the surroundings as I ride.

I'm not impressed with the newer bikes, but to me, there are few frames sweeter than a vintage, Italian-made, lugged steel, Bianchi or similar.

Yes, I'm aware of this. It seems like the vast majority of bikes are made in Asia. Especially those with carbon parts. My eyes were opened by this article. Check out the info on Orbea. Looks like the carbon parts on the higher-end models are mass produced in Asia as well, China to be exact.

I have a '05 Via Nirone. I bought it because I preferred the handling to the others I test rode at the time. Also the bike came with Campagnolo which I prefer the shifting of.

I don't know but I love mine....

There's lots of folks on here who think Cervelos are somehow magical "virtually propels itself up the hill" as one person posted...to each his own.

I'll never understand the love for the celeste color. Everytime I see it, it reminds me of the liquid anti-diarrhea medicine my mom used to give me when I was a kid. Kaopectate or Mylanta or something. The bottle & the liquid were the same exact color.

How is it fake bike? Is it not really a bike :eek:. Get over yourself and where the frames are made. Enjoying a bike should be based on it's handling and ride not where it's made.

I got a Bianchi because I liked the colour! Frankly knowing so little about bikes, I knew that even if there was a better bike out there for the same price; I wouldn't be able to tell the difference and its invariably pretty subjective anyway. I got the Via Nirone because it makes me want to get up at silly o'clock in the morning and ride!

The thread I started didn't get any replies might as well try here. Those of you that have bought bianchis recently, what is the warranty? Thanks.

I really don't have a soft spot for bianchis. I think they look pretty cool, but I haven't ever tried one so I actually might like them. Who knows?

However, I really don't care what you're riding, as long as you're riding. So if you're riding (as you are) welcome aboard!

I have liked Bianchis for well over 20 years. Regardless of where the frames are made Bianchi has been making bikes for around 100years. They know their stuff. I loved my Bianchi MTB and I'm sure you'll enjoy your new ride.

There is only one Bianchi for me. I believe it's the white CF Luna. I think B makes decent bikes but the celeste color is definitely not my taste. To each his own I guess. Welcome to the sport and many miles of fun.

Hmmmm. Perhaps, but I need to work on my engine first. I can't see putting a ton of money into upgrades and accessories when I only average 16 mph on flats (and don't race). :)

Depends how flat your flats are and not many of us race either.

Now as to Bianchi's. Don't buy many new bikes but whenever I am in the Market- I look at Bianchis. Had 3 Mountain bikes on the trot and all in celeste-Didn't you know that Bianchi won the MTB worlds on several occasions? Only just into road bikes and No road Bianchi yet but you can bet there will be.

It's the celeste green. Definitely. It draws you in, so that you "bond" with the bike.

I love vintage Bianchi's, however I am not really impressed with Bianchi in general. It's like now everyone gets a Bianchi for the name and the Celeste paint. There are plenty of better options besides Bianchi.

Depends, I suppose, on what Bianchi you buy. I have a Bianchi road bike, made in Italy, and got it ordered in to the shop and built in ten days. I have a Bianchi track bike, made in Taiwan, and got it ordered in to the shop and built in four days. So, contrary to your suggestion, and for me at least, I've got at least one European bike and no supply line problems. No way yet to judge the customer service -- the bikes run great and I haven't needed it yet.

I like that my Bianchi was made in Italy. But I understand that that means it has a closer connection to "history," and not necessarily a closer connection to "quality."

They're the only bike you can identify out of the corner of your eye as they go past at speed.
You might not like Celeste but other manufacturers would kill for brand identity like that.

I like Celeste. I liked it when Marin did grey MTBs with a bright set of forks. I liked the outfits on Miami Vice in the 80's.
Keep your grey and silver bikes.
