Kit for Unattached Riders—cross-post from racing

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Kit for Unattached Riders—cross-post from racing

I'm trying to get this kit made at Champion Systems. I need 10 jersey orders and so far I have 3. 2 for myself and 1 from the racing forums. As soon as we have the minimum 10 jerseys, we can order as many or as little bibs, long sleeves, fleece tights, you name it, as we want. I'm getting bibs. Just let me know if you need a skinsuit or something mocked up, there are no minimums so long as we have the 10 jerseys.

The caps and other accessories have a separate minimum. We need 10 of those to get the order through. If there's anything on the Champion Systems catalog you want made, and there's enough interest, I'll slap it together and try to put the order through.

I put together a site for product or ordering details: unattachedrider.com.

Thanks.

Pretty nifty idea. I may be in for a couple of those jerseys, are they actually going to be white and black? I noticed a second jersey on the site you have...

That's awesome. I'm on a team, but might be tempted for a pair of bibs if you get enough jerseys (have loads of jerseys right now, but bibs are wearing out)

Unattached sounds like you're talking about romantic involvement. I would think independent or something similar would sound better.

But that's just me.

Welcome to cycling racing. It's called unattached, he's not just making this up.

PS, anyone have experience with this printer... I like the idea, but I'd like some idea on the quality...

I have 2 BikeForums jerseys from ChampSys. Good not great quality. I like them better than say Performance's stuff and they are on par with some but not all the Pro level stuff I have (from PBK which is supposedly real stuff). I like the fit and the full zip option.

Updated image is up on the site. You can now see the back. I finalized the bib design; it now has a white panel instead the grey. I think that looks so slick that you better be fast or it will be sad.

The artwork and the deposit are going out today.

pren, I took out the URL wrap on the bottom of the jersey a while ago. I've just been re-using that graphic, but now that's updated as well.

slim, I prefer going through the site so I have your email right away. Easier to keep track of too.

So is one truly 'unattached' if one is associating with 'Unattached' and its advertised website on the fanny?

I'm *almost* there. The only thing I don't like about the jersey is the insane amount of links to "unattachedrider.com"

Why would you put a link on the jersey to the site where you place orders for the jersey? Seems... weird. If you can remove the links (or at least reduce it to.. 1 hidden one), I'm in.

So if someone sees it and wants one, they can buy one?

Sorry, I don't think it's too much. There are two small URLs on the sleeves, and one on the back of the jersey. The URL on the bibs are probably gonna be covered up by the jersey.

You have to understand that I'm not making ANY money off of this batch. I put the deposit in myself and might have to eat the cost if we don't reach the minimum. In fact if I invoiced myself for the work I've done so far it would come over 2k. The only compensation I'm looking for is the satisfaction of seeing another one of these kits in a race.

This first batch serves as ambassadors to this idea. If I want the concept to achieve any amount of notoriety, then I need to let people know where to go for these kits.

I think it looks great as it is now - and I'm eagerly awaiting the paypal invoice/request for funds...
If you check the site, the URL has been largely removed, but remains in a few key areas - nothing more obtrusive than your typical 'team' kit. The jersey is fantastic, in my opinion. Cheers!
