That drivetrain is so filthy it is shameful. Do you have know pride of ownership? Clean it up now before that grime contaminates those new wheels! And there is supposed to be a garage door. Don't you know anything. Please tell me that's not a pink water bottle. At least we did not have to tell you to flip the stem.
BTW, I hope you like the new wheels. I just got some new to me Speed Dream wheels by Dave Thomas that replaced my Shimano WH-R550's. My steel bike now absorbs bumps and chatter like a steel bike should and performs better, too. If I had not experienced it, I would not believe how much different and better new wheels can make a bike ride. I now truly believe that the old adage that wheels should be the first choice for an upgrade.

Nice ride man. Those wheels should last you forever or until you plan to upgrade. Don't mind these haters...they're just jealous. Damn OCPs, ya'll expect everyone has a house with a spotless garage? AND...that bike looks like any other bike with "moderate" miles. So why bash his his drivetrain? Take a dam chill pill and shut the hell up and just enjoy the photos.

i havent cleaned the drivetrain in about 100-150 miles...it's a red water bottle! I really like how stiff these wheels feel in comparison to the bontrager selects (my stock wheels)...i am going to buy some "gunk" from walmart...i heard that cleans up the drivetrain really nice

Did you teleport yourself and your bike to TX today? I briefly rode with someone who had that same Lemond in about that size. I was thinking the whole time, "that's a sharp looking Lemond." No Aksiums on that ride, though.
Enjoy the wheels & the bike.

The lubricant that I use recommends cleaning with soap and water so that you do not remove the lubricant. A coating of lubricant then builds up on the chain and protects it better.

Nice wheels! Not going to harp on your drivetrain, because mine looks like that often. But I will advise on cleaning methods. Gunk works for cleaning, but you'll get the same results with a bucket of warm water mixed with dishwashing soap, and a toothbrush. Rinse with low pressure cold water, and repeat if necessary.
For some reason, I always shine up my drivetrain before riding an event. Did it before Lancaster this year only to have it rain, and totally mess up my nice cleaning job. Felt obligated to clean it once I got it home. I swear my bike actually smelled like an Amish pasture when I got it home.
