PBK and the stock market
So, I've been in the market to sell off my DA. Last week, I followed the business cycle that is PBK and was half shocked half amazed at the low DA price. I even "tried" to pull the trigger but thankfully some online sniper grabbed the last groupset before I had a chance to yet add another DA groupset, which I absolutely do not need.
So today, I checked back. And lo and behold, it's up to $1043. So, should I sell my DA now? I would like to auction it on ebay, but I just hate it if PBK starts dumping their stuff again before my auction ended.

A five year old Computrainer sold for 300 dollars more than if you ordered a brand new one from any website that sells them. CRAZY.

Don't expect to make any money off of it. I know I didn't. Luckily, I broke even. With e-bay and paypal fees, it's too much of a hassle to make it worth it.

any idea if the net pre-sold fees (paypal + ebay listing fees) would be higher or about equal if I were to sell the DA groupset piece by piece as opposed to as a complete groupset? I can understand I would net more money selling piece by piece since there would be more potential buyers. However, if the total costs of listing fees and paypal also increase, then I don't see a point.

just curious, how much you sold yours for? Dam Ebay and Paypal. They've been getting way too greedy for their own good.

List it in the For Sale thread and see what you can get. I have been planning to hold off and try a sram group this winter but if its a great deal, who knows?

if $600 does happen (who knows with the electric and cf stuff) i'll be all over it. don't get my hopes up, though. if you have an extra one lying around you should unload it sooner rather than later, if you're not going to use it. it won't appreciate and eventually it'll be like trying to sell 9 speed stuff now.

If it ever hits $600, I'll buy a set just for the crank and the cassette to use with my sram and ebay the rest.
I wonder why they aren't as competitive with sram. (I got quoted $950 euros from a LBS in Amsterdam for a Rival group. )

Deep inside, you know that you want it or else why you are checking on PBK. Frankly, I don't understand PBK's pricing on the DA groupset. It was below the $800 mark. now it is ~ $1000. I don't think the exchange rate changed that much..

the Ultegra groups went up over $100 as well....I think they probably got a deal on the last batch of groups they had.
