Can someone identify the different levels of Ksyrium wheels?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Can someone identify the different levels of Ksyrium wheels?

What are the different levels of Ksyrium wheels. There are Elites, Askiums, SSL's etc. Could someone rank them from best to least? How does some of the Shimano wheels compare performance wise? Could someone also identify what Shimano wheels matchup for example; Shimano wh-R550 is similar in price and performance to Ksyrium Askiums etc. Thanks Wardie

You forgot Equipe. They are the lowest level Ksyrium model; I'd say that since the Aksium doesn't have "Ksyrium" in the name (it's simply the "Mavic Aksium") it's not part of the Ksyrium line of wheelsets.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but my wheels are black with bladed spokes and just say"Ksyrium" and "SSC" on them. Where do they fit into the Ksyrium product line?

Im assuming they are either SL3's or ES, which means they are pretty good. the SSC means they were/are used by professional teams.

They range from 1900 grams to about 1500 grams to the highest end.

Possibly the original Ksyrium when there was only one model that Mavic made - think Armstrong circa 2000. One of my pairs is from back then but still going strong.

SSC (Special Services Course) is the yellow Mavic neutral support vehicle that is part of the team caravan at races. The designation SSC means that it is used as a neutral support replacement item.
