What saddle bag/wedge do you use?
As the title says: which saddle bag do you use, and why? Are there some top tier ones?

Jersey pockets

Because saddle bags are gay (oh, man - did he say that?) and ruin the lines of a nice bike.

Performance house brand seat pack.
I used to use the price point one which has a clip fasten in addition to velcro, but the attachment for that gets in the way of the flex of my SLR saddle so I got something else. It was 8 bucks and works really well. I actually miss how much stuff I could stash in it.

Despite what some posters will say, plenty of folks use a wedge to carry a spare tube, patch kit, ID, etc.

Seriously, in your jersey pockets? (I'm really askin' not mocking.)
Don't you find them uncomfortable, sloshing around etc.?
I gotta admit I'm leaning towards some kind of unobtrusive little saddle wedge pack thing that doesn't take up a lot of room.

...dang, if saddlebags are gay I must be celebrating diversity!
Currently I have the Trek Side Loader:
https://tinyurl.com/36tjot
...and a Topeak Wedge Pack:
https://tinyurl.com/3dqz8a
(installed on different bikes)
I like them both - the Side Loader is nice because it's easy to access - zippers on each side and a separate (small) compartment in the rear. There is also a zippered pouch inside for keys and whatnot that's attached to one of the access panels.
The Topeak is one large compartment and has a telescoping zipper if you need to make it bigger. I was able to fit a 16oz can of Rockstar in it (telescoped) in addition to some other odds & ends (patchkit, multi-tool, etc.).
I have not owned/used either bag for long, but they both appear to be well made.
Here you can see the Side Loader attached to my Kestrel Talon:
https://www.bikeforums.net/showpost.p...postcount=6477
Yeah, it would look cooler with the aero seatpost and no bag, but whaddya gonna do?
Oh yeah, you asked why...lessee...
First wedge pack I bought was much smaller pack with a single entry flap at the rear. It was kinda a pain to get into (in addition the zipper was bunged up) and didn't have much room. I replaced it with the Topeak because I have some of their other products and they seem to make pretty good stuff. I liked the way the Topeak opened and the telecoping function. It's handy when you need that little bit of extra room to cram in the 2nd powerbar (or can of Rockstar ) Plus if I was going to spoil the lines of my bike might as well have some cargo capacity, so I was tending toward the larger bags.
Just remembering what a pain the rear entry bag was (no jokes, please - lol) I thought the side loader would be worth trying out...plus it's pretty big (for a wedge pack anyway).
So far so good - we'll see how they hold up over time.

I have Vaude Tool L bags on two of my bikes. It has two decent sized zippered compartments. I leave the things that stay with the bike(tube, patch kit, levers) in one compartment and the other compartment gets my keys, driver's license, cell phone. Much easier than having to fish around in one big compartment to retrieve things.

too true! The number one POINT of a bike jersey is the massive pockets! They are there to carry heaps of stuff which can be accessed in a second. It's kinda funny seeing guys trying to get at something in their bags; it's like, unbuckle this, unzipp this, unclip this, unwrap this....aah, 5 mins later, "THERE's my 5mm Alen"
Bit of a paradox: people wear a bike jersey to 'look' the part, but don't like using the pockets, so they use a saddle bag instead. If they wanna 'look' the part, they wouldn't be using a saddle bag in the first place
Bulging pockets are pro

Sci-Con Elan....very unobstrusive. It holds tirelevers, multi-tool and a tube. Anything else goes in the jersey pockets.
