I definitely like the Flo Red on the S-Works and for the Allez, I love my sporty yellow ['01 Sport]. I think they call it Pearl Yellow.... or something else, I forgot.

i have a question for those who own the current generation A1 aluminum framesets (compact geometry). is the downtube aero or not? (round or teardrop shaped) i can see from the web catalog that the cro-mo frame is all round tubes, and that the aluminum frame has an aero seat tube, but i can't tell anything about the downtube.

Yes I have ridden it. I think it's one of the best bikes in the world....!!! I think building it from the frame up makes it more sentimental.
I know on the '02 Sport is an aero downtube. I was just looking thru this whole thread and there's a bunch of pictures of guys' bikes. See if you can see the downtube to be aero or not. If not you can PM the guys with those bikes and ask... or look on Specialized's website. It might say something there.

you know I used to hate compact geometry, because it reminded me too much of my mountain bike. but now my tastes have changed, and "classic" road frames just look dated, and compact is defintiely muy sexy!
I just haven't decided though if Giant TCRs or Specialized's Allez are sexier.
I think i'm leaning toward Specialized - that wheel cutout in the comp and above frame is really nice!

If you have the money, check out S-Works, they are AMAZING!!!!!!!!
But is it the 2003 Allez Comp that you are looking at? The green one with the cutout in the seat tube? That is very nice!

I know this is a old thread, but I was hoping someone here @ the BF can help.
I'm trying to locate my old bike geometry spec. It is a 1992' Specialized Epic Allez-
It looks the same as F1_Fan has shown here @ the Blog.
I really appreciate if any BFers can help or direct me to the site that has it.
Many Thanks.

Just picked up this older specialized allez. The guy who sold it said it was a 2003. I didn't believe he had the year right, but I liked the bike. After much review and investigation, I think its a 1993 (color, fork,etc...) What do you think?
Thanks.
