Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

i currently ride a size M Giant TCR Limited and am comfortable with its fit. i am interested in purchasing a Mercier kilo II fixed gear but am not sure which size i should get since they arent the same as giants.

those are links to the geometries of the two bikes. any help on which size of the kilo would be better, the 50 or 53, i would appreciate. i am 5'9'' 190, if that matters.

Based on those numbers, you want the 53. It will actually fit a tiny bit smaller with a slightly more forward feel due to the shorter top tube (by 5mm) and steeper seat tube and head tube angles, but most of that can be corrected with seat adjustment (5-10mm back) and MAYBE a shorter stem. If you're taking this to the velodrome (there is one in Balboa Park with public access https://www.sdvelodrome.com/ ) you will want the tighter geometry anyway. It's pretty close though.

Either way, the 50 is even smaller and the 57 will be much larger.
