Do you have a bike that is simply brushed Aluminum. If so did it come that way, or did you refinish?

I present to you, the JunkYard Dog. Raw aluminum.
I actually "unfinished" it through the magic of paint stripper. Then I hit it with Scotchbrite pads.
Rain and abuse have not been an issue.

FWIW, I love the bike, too. Full ultegra and I got it for around 1150. Been a pretty solid bike, except the wheels, which have been a pretty big PITA. But that's not Scott related (Shimano, I think WH-550).
I'll be glad to take more or specific pictures when I'm home and post them if you want. Like I said it's the 2005 model, so finding one now might be hit or miss.

Swobo. The model called "Sanchez."
It's painted to look like a galvanized finish. They claim their first editions of this bicycle were actually galvanized, however friends of mine own a local shop - and upon inspecting the bikes (which were 1st edition), those too were painted to appear galvanized.
Anyway, it's an o.k. ride, better than average. Popular purchase - but there are far better off-the-shelf set ups out there for people who actually care more about the ride and less about the pose.
Personally, I wouldn't buy it.
But then again, I'm fairly judicial about where my money goes - and I don't purchase **** poser products, but there a lot of people out there who do.

I've built a couple that became brushed aluminium after paint stripping. Without a clear coat they get pritty grungy in a hurry. Sweat stains look nasty. They can be cleaned pretty easily with a scotchbright and waxed with car wax to minimize the corrosion.
I suspect that the overall frame life is seriously compromised when compared to a properly preped and painted frame.
For a quick and dirty beater though its easy.

If only you could clean off those excessive logos, too.
