Kuota Khan Frame Damage

My Kuota Khan frame was a little over a year old. In cleaning the bike I discovered a crack in the seat tube, midway between the top tube and bottom bracket. Not a place you would expect any unusual stress. The frame has never been crashed or even ridden on significantly rough roads and otherwise in pristine shape. Has anyone had a similar experience. The dealer is going to replace the frame.

the tubing is thin at that point, the crack most likely originated in shipping.

I had a Kharma that I crashed pretty hard. The fork steerer tube shattered and the frame crack at the internal lugs. But that was in a crash. I'm riding a Kredo now that I bought as a replacement.
