Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Chicago Bike Shops

I'm visiting the great city of Chicago next weekend for the first time. What shops should I check out while I am in town?? Thanks in advance for any input!

I don't recommend any in particular since I'm from the suburbs, but here's a listing, along with reviews

My wife and I went to the Cycle Smithy as she was looking for a new bike. The people were very helpful and set up 2 or 3 bikes for her to ride. We might have bought a bike from them, but we had flown in and it would have been hard to get the bike bad home. Airline fees and Chicago taxes would have killed any price advantage. Also, it was the first time she had shopped for a bike in about 25 years...
