Sealing the Deal
 

So I took the bike out for an hour, after adjusting the fit myself. I can say all the good things about it and they are true, but I still had a few concerns. The seat post has a little nick in the front. It looks like it is in the finish. Is is possible the composite material is injured? How can I best check? Also they seatpost has quite a bit of viscous lubricant in there. I was wondering if its possible that this stuff attacks plastics. Why is it in the seatpost?

I'm going to have to get clipped pedals for the first week or two. The store says the sell a cheap set of clipless for $120 plus $100 for the shoes. Can I get a better deal off the net?

Im going to bring that bike home and ride it a lot!

Hell yeah. I just got Ultegra SL pedals for $66. There are lots of decent pedals out there under $100.

That $130 combo really looks like it takes the thinking out of it, which I like. If anyone else can recommend for fair performance level Ill just pick them up.

Any answers about the nicked carbon fiber? I read that it can cause the part to break later on. I wonder if I can request a new seatpost as part of the new bike.
