im in a predicament, what would you do? 1980s Guerciotti Campagnolo Super record components mint cond.-700 or 1998 Fausto Coppi Steel frame all the goods ect.-500 which one? i ride leisurly but want a bike that can go with me.

think about the shifting system. the older components are like pole oriented, and with the fausto likely to have brifters.

im trying to get hell away from pole shifters... but i do plan to race soon.

I guess that means down-tube shifters. $700 is a decent but certainly not a great price for vintage Italian. It could certainly "go with you."

I'd think a 98 Coppi (or any other bike) would have indexed shifters, probably brifters. If it's not decked out with complete lowline crap the Coppi at 200$ less is probably the deal.

Somebody will insert the standard line about fit.
