I have have a trek 1000 and an Apollo Fiamme http://www.cyclelink.com.au/prod5135.htm
I went for a ride on my trek 1000 today my neck hurt. My neck kept droping down and my neck musles were tiring for holding my neck up. I think the fit is pretty good. I just don't like road bikes because of the bent over postion and I feel uneasy on it if you know what I mean. So the apollo fiamme does not have any clipless peadals so I want to get some. I prefer flat bar road bikes. But I'm not sure if my fits right on the appollo fiamme because my arms are really stright and streched out seems that the handle bars are to far away from the seat. |
I will post my bike fit on the internet sometime for you guys to check out.

How long have you spent riding the Trek? It does take a little bit of time to get used to the position on a road bike, so you might need to spend some more time on it before you judge it too harshly. It doesn't hurt to take it to your LBS too, just so they can double-check your position. I know when I started riding road bikes, my fit felt ok at first, but it was only after a couple months that I began to notice niggling pain from repeatedly riding in a slightly "wrong" position. |
Hey I live in Adelaide Australia to. The feeling I get is that my neck is straining to hold itself up. I usually run but I stepped in a water hole on the beach and it had a sharp rock in it and I got cut this was while walking by the way. so I went back to cycling for a bit. I run barefoot in Adelaide if you have seen me running?
Where do you live and cycle in Adelaide? |
I reckon I will get them to put the handle bars up more for a more upright position.
