New way of working carbon

Cyclingnews reported on this fancy new thing today. It's not as light..(yet) as some of the fancy frames using traditional tubes, but it's alot stronger and stiffer (hence the MTB applcation).
Maybe with some more work it'll be apllied to road.

worth a read:

I know, it's a mountain bike frame.

I saw--somewhere in the media--a similar concept with a road frame and I think Ti inserts. Looked pretty damn cool.

Where do the sponsor logos go?

Oh, and that must be a b*tch to clean.

I think they would need to wrap it in some type of extremely light material. Just to keep debris from getting in there.

And they could put the logos on there :P

They could shrink wrap it in plastic wrap to make it more aero

dumb idea for MTB, unless you ride mud free.

Szczuldo 10-03-07 08:43 AM

somehow...i liked this application more when it was done inside Ti Tubing like in Titus frames.

MMM... a top "tube" I don't want to brush against. I thought the specialized squared off ones were hard on the knees... That looks like a cheese grater.
