When should you get the first Tune Up?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

When should you get the first Tune Up?

I have put about 250 miles on my new Giant OCR2 and have been hearing a lot of noise from the cranks in many/most gears. It feels like shifting between some certain gears isn't as crisp as it used to be...is now a good time for the first tune up? (I have one year of free tune ups from my LBS)

Yup, you're ready for a tune-up. It only takes a couple of hundred miles for the cables to stretch and need adjusting. After this you should be able to go quite a while without needing much adjustment. Have them show you how to lube the chain while you're there-it's good to do fairly regularly.
