My LBS tells me to only by SRAM Red

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My LBS tells me to only buy SRAM Red

When I told my LBS I kind of liked the shifter feel of the Double Tap on a $5K Cannondale System Six I test rode the other day, they told me to only buy SRAM Red because the lower groups are heavier and don't have a derailleur 'trim' adjustment. I don't know what that is, but it sounds like something that involves hitting on women. That sounds cool.

By entertaining SRAM thoughts, I have sinned against the Holy Order of Dura Achee. I will repent Sisters.

The Holy Order of Dura Achee has FD trim adjustment guided by the crisp hand of God... let's not get all sacrilegious here by entertaining the thought of joining one of those other cults.

Dude, I have no idea what they were talking about. I pump up tires and change pedals. That's it. But if they say it's too heavy, F it. Here's the Pcad Bicycle Maintainence Plan:

PCad: Glenn, this bike makes a funny noise, it's clicking when I pedal.

Glenn, Piermont Bicycle Connection: You ride in the rain a lot, don't you?

PCad: Correct.

Glenn: We'll take a look at it for you.

Pcad: How soon can you do that?

Glenn: Go get some coffee at the deli and come back.

Pcad: Thanks Glenn.

It's simple being Pcad. And Piermont Bicycle Connection RULES. And they know what they're doing. That helps, because Pcad does not, as RW can tell you.

If you don't mind spending $2,200, sure, SRAM Red is awesome.

Sorry, they missed their chance. Those funds have been redirected towards a Powertap SL Zipp 404 clincher rear wheel at this juncture. Submit all future Pcad Schwag Procurement Proposals in writing to my Schwag Secretary, RW, or his assistant, botto.

WOW. That was only 31 minutes to do your research and make a decision.

NO-ONE is going to call you indecisive.

Hey, maybe there is a job for you in Dubya's inner circle!

Regards, Anthony

I'm far too analytical and methodical. No snap decisions here.

i test rode a system six with the force group a while back, i like the sti interface better myself but loved the weight, i really wish it had a big gear trim, and the shift was done with the big lever or somthin, i didn't like how far i had to move the lever to upshift compared to how easy it is w/ shimano, also like the double upshift on shimano, i wish i liked it more cause i love to hate on shimano (did you come to the same conclusion as me)

^^^oh so now its not okay to bust balls hmm lol
