Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Had my annual physical today and ...

my Doctor asked "Do you ever feel chest pains, light-headed or nausea when exercising?"

I said "Sometimes during intervals I have a little bit of reflux."

She said, "Sometimes these questions don't make sense, but I have to ask them."

I felt fortunate when I met our new family doctor. He is a former cyclist who would like to ride again if he can surmount schedule and logistics problems (no good route and too much traffic where he lives). There was a lot he understood without me explaining. We even chatted about our cycling experiences.

I've outlived two doctors already... I don't bother going to them anymore.
