Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sidi/Shimano sizing

Hello roadies, sorry if this has been asked before but :

My EU46 Shimano touring shoes fit me perfect; will an EU46 Sidi road shoe also fit me perfectly?

I know I should try them on but maybe someone has experience with shimano/sidis shoes...

TIA

Don't know personally, but I've heard SIDIs run a bit narrow...

Yes they do. I've been trying on shoes all week.

The Shimano's have a bit more room, as do the Carnacs and the one pair of Diadora's that I tried. The SIDI's were definitely a little narrower.

You can get SIDI's in Mega (Wide) sizes, which would be wider than the standard Shimano. From the chart I have, it looks like the Sidi's run about the same length: 46 Shimano = 46 Side = US 11.5.

I just went 1/2 size up for Sidi regular width and they fit beautifully. Then again I don't have the big, fat Fred Flintstone feet that some of you seem to have
