Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What cassette do you have? It's either shimano or campy compatible and if its a newer one from the last few years, you should be good to go as long as you get a wheelset with the coresponding hub.

Thanks for the reply Rad, according the the LeMond Site the cassette I have is a Sram PG850 11-26 8spd

so from what you said it sounds as if I should be able to grab basically any wheelset?

Which brand are your shifters and derailleurs? Look for a wheel that matches those. Per Lemond website 2006 Etape has Shimano Sora with Tiagra rear derailleur, so if no one changed it you need Shimano compatible wheels.
