Winter tires - recommendation

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Winter tires - recommendation

I need a recommendation for winter tires for my road bike. I currently have the cheap slicks that came with my cannondale Caad8. With winter weather, I would like something with more tread for wet conditions and a reflective sidewall for night riding. I heard the Schwalbe Marathon Plus is a solid choice. any recommendation or opinions on this subject?

although they have no reflective sidewall, i have been very impressed with Continental GP 4 Seasons tires in size 700x28 (more like a 26mm). They fit on my caad 7 with room to spare.
They are light, comfortable and confident in the wet and the extra volume makes for a comfy ride even over the sticks and camoflauged divots common on a winter road's shoulder.

I haven't tried them yet but this might be the year

You can get them here. They are kinda wide, however.
