Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A new trainer for you ... or your kids ....

I think it's a GREAT idea!!

Now if only they'd create something like that so I could study University level subjects while riding my trainer!

Cute! That sounds like a neat idea for a toy! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to check Nashbar's price...

Too bad RyanF is not around!

Seriously, this is awesome. My 3yr old has so much energy. More than my house can handle on a rainy or cold day.

I want one too... Dear Santa...

More respect than this guy who has a perfect riding day and lovely roads to ride on. I'd be riding just to get as far as I could from the chandelier.

I've got one of these coming. It's nice to see that toy companies are thinking of ways to prevent kids from being as big of lardos as their parents.
I suspect some will use this instead of actually riding outside, but with the level of paranoia hyped on parents, its a small wonder.

I saw it at the store this weekend
My kid is way too young yet but I can't wait until he grows up

Why don’t they make that for adults?

A) its 100 bucks
2) it comes with the bike (a toy of coarse but it still cost money)
III) There should be a company that can make one for adults around 100 bucks
quarto) trainers are overpriced

I'm a scatter brain when it comes to replies to threads, but you get my point

They do. Cateye tried it, didn't sell.
Tacx makes one that actually allows virtual races via the internet. It's great, but $$.

Those Tacx ads drive me crazy, they show people living in Venice or Paris on trainers. If I lived in either place, no way would I own a trainer.

My son is too young but I'm going to get one anyway, it may not sell after this year. Kids like to mimic parents, and he's fascinated watching me on trainer, like a big gerbil or something.

I'm thinking that w/ some creative modifications, I could turn that thing into an adult-sized bike. Might get boring swerving at letters and numbers though.

Had a chance to see one in person, the pedals have zero resistance. Hey, at least it simulates pedaling, right?

And it gets the kids off the sofa! It might also give the impression that exercise can be fun.

Besides getting off the couch, kids need to get out ot the house and have a life. Better in a Burley behind a parent who leaves the cell phone off.

What's next prenatal Netflix to foster fetus development?

My 0.02, I'm grouchy, as I did not ride today.

I pull my son on in a trailer, he rides his bike with training wheels (he's 3) and he goes hiking with me. But he can't be outside 24 hours a day and this is better than him just sitting there, plus it isn't just a mindless video game.
