lotus legend???
i recently picked up a 1985-86?? lotus legend. it must have been taken out once or twice, then stored away for over 20 years. columbus tubing, suntour derailers, drilled eyelet crank set, i dunno, over all a very nice bike. i havnt been able to find out much info on this particular make. some info on Lotus in general though. i'm just wondering what this gem might be worth. Did i get ripped off? i dont know much about bikes yet, but the people i know that do, say its a very nice find. if anynoe has any insight on this topic, i would apperciate it.
thanks
thanks

How much did you pay for it?
I've got an 84 Lotus Legend that was once a road bike, now converted for fixed. The tubing is great, love the geometries, and overall an impressively smooth ride.
Lotus was a Japanese bike company in the 70's - 80's, with their height probably coming in around the 80's... then they disappeared. They produced various ranges of road bicycles, many high-end (like most 'major' bike companies these days). The Legend was one of their top end models at the time.
Their logo, if you have it on your bicycle in still good condition, is really sweet.
That's about all I know on them. Great bikes.

Lotus bikes are sweet. Very desirable back in the 80s. I believe Lotus was actually the trademark name given by the American importer. Don't know the OEM source in Japan. But they were high quality, high end Japanese bikes, especially your Columbus tubed model.

Origin of LOTUS bike
Recently I got LOTUS SUPREM which has campy super record set with SR handle and Kashima saddle.
I looked up on the web and I found that this brand had been supplied bay TSUNODA bicycle in JAPAN.
Their web page is
ttp://www.tu-bicycle.co.jp/
Unfortunately they are no longer suppling high end sport bike.
I send an email to the president of TSUNODA, and surprisingly I got a quick reply from him, the CEO directly.
Does anyone have catalogue or some more info?

*****bot888, try cross posting on Classic & Vintage forum. There should be several over there who are familiar with Lotus. I have an 86' Lotus Challenger, one of their entry level bikes. The frame is double butted, Tange 900 chromoly tubing with chromoly fork. Not bad for an "entry level" bike.
