im going insane

i have an exhibit opening for my architecture studio on friday, and i am stuck in front of computers and desks for the rest of the week, just as i was last week, trying to get this all finalized and ready to put together. the only thing redeeming about this is that my project is a bike station (like chicagos millennium park station).

i havnt ridden besides my 1.5 mile commuter to my studio and back a couple times a day. i dont get enough sleep or eat well enough to manage a long ride, as if there was even some way i could find an hour or two to ride!

my legs are twitching (literally) to go ride... i get sore and stiff when im off the bike for more than 3 days, and its now been like 6!

WHAT IS A GUY TO DO?

no weekend time? if you're desparate...call in sick to work. i do that from time to time when i need a day off...for resting, for hanging out with friends, for tackling things on my to-do list, whatever. or sometimes, if i plan it in advance, instead of calling in sick i'll schedule one day off...

or start doing cocaine...it really starts to put the rest of the world on the back burner...

im in college still, so techincally im not working. I have spent the entire weekend perfecting a 3d model of my project and designing a mural about the project for a 52 foot long wall. since the architecture building is 24 hours, i dont have any excuse not to work.

days off dont happen, especially when 800 people are expected to come through our exhibit during a gallery hop friday night...

oh and cocaine... well enough of my archie friends have already been through that when in similar spots as the one im in now that im pretty sure ill never do anything addictive again (besides cycling).

Just schedule in an hour or so to ride. You can find the time and it will do you wonders.

i can scedule an hour in, but that means an hour and half away from the work. on top of that, i think i wouldnt last more than 20 or 30 minutes. i eat nothing but junk fast food and prepackaged stuff full of perservatives, sodium and empty carbs, and im getting about 3 hours a night of sleep whenever i feel like i cant go any longer. i know if i went out for a decent ride, id bonk.....

this is just a vent really haha, its the only way i can justify taking a break, i can minimize the program and hop on bf for a few minutes while i take a drink of water.

well, I'm glad that I'm not the only one who goes crazy because of lack of bike riding.

Do you have a lunch a hour? Go ride then. Bring your lunch along with you on the ride and eat while you ride. It takes some practice to breath and eat at the same time, but it can be done. If that doesn't work, get really good riding on your rollers, raise your desk, and do your work on your computer while you ride. :-D.

ah....... if only school would allow that. But then again, carrying a bike and rollers through the crowded hallways of my school may not be the best of ideas.

"Walking through the desert
You know what it's about
It's really from the church
Too foreign
That was never there
I'm goin' mad!
Sun is drying out my brain
The smile and installations
Are my pain
I'm goin' mad!
I'm goin' mad!
I'm goin' mad!
mad!"

go cats.

i eat at my desk lately.

my exhibit opens friday though, so after that, ill be good to go for a few weeks before the revision of the project is due to get some long and hard makeup rides (hopefully its like make-up sex... wayyyy better than normal!)... this isnt work, this is school! thats the problem with architecture, the education is so much harder than the real thing... i dont have rollers yet, but i think i am getting a nice trainer for christmas, so i can mount a platform to work from while im on it!

Stop checking and posting to these forums; use the time you save to get a bit more work done; then schedule an hour's bike ride :) (Only half-joking...)
