water in my wheels
 
did a search and didn't find an exact answer really...

will leaving the water in my wheels hurt them? i have roval echeppe and just got through the rain and noticed this while cleaning up the bike.

I don't think it will hurt the wheels, but I've heard it can cause butyl tubes to rot. May be just a myth. Ask WaterRockets - he knows all.

Water is good for drinking and washing hands.... not very useful inside a wheel.

I'd get it out of there, no harm in that.

Make sure when you wash your bike that the valves on your wheels are upright not upside down ( I meant rotate your wheels so the valves are pointing down)and you will not get water inside trust me.

damn, cuz theres only water in the rear wheel... why couldn't it just be in the front!!!

ill take it out tomorrow, im gunna ride it tomorrow morning to help me train harder :-p

Butyl don't rot. Or rather, it can certainly degrade, but it does so very slowly. Getting water in the wheels of any bike that is ridden semi-regularly won't cause a problem. Good thing, too, cause water gets into wheels all the time.

And I must say, waterrockets is one of the most reality-inclined people in the road forum. Just sayin'.
