Won't happen as children can't vote. He might promise free incontinence trousers to everyone over 60 though.

I have never seen someone try as hard as you to convince others that you are an Australian.

I think you are an American sock puppet.

I live in Australia.

We race all year, that is why there are so many quick riders here.

Road racing in winter (because it still is around 20-25C) crits and track in summer and mountian bike racing all year long. Where I live I can race a crit Tue night, track Thur and crit Sat at the moment. Sure ti would be the same anywhere with not much of a change for the seasons.

My team just kept the poms out of the euro football and let the russians in.

Lol. Nah I just use the words 'bloody' and 'farken' to much. :p When I was in England they thought I had the worst Aussie accent ever and the worst overall language skills of any Aussie they had come across. Meh! I dont think I am that bad.

Treefox 11-22-07 04:59 PM

I'm racing Sunday...

no Sydney,

I just did some looking around, average max for Aug would be around 20c, whilst the average temps is around 16c.

Still you race Saturday afternoons in short sleeves and shorts. Training in the mornings last winter I can remember once or twice a 7c morning. thats just before 6am. Usually around 10c.

So sorry I lied a little bit, never seems cold here anyway.

I should start calling you Daniel. As far as missing Aussies, you haven't been around long enough to know about that.

New Yanks and jafas: why no one likes Aussies anymore

When I first started travelling, only about 10 years ago, everyone loved an Aussie. You walked into a pub, someone would hear your accent, and clap you on the shoulder and buy you a drink. "G'day," was an acceptable pick-up line.

You'd find yourself the token conversation piece at get-togethers, where you could persuade people that you wrestled kangaroos for a living. Doors magically opened, hassles were incredibly smoothed over, with the help of an Australian accent.

But it's all gone wrong ...

This Groundwater guy seems like an Aussie Michael Moore... Actually, reading his blog gives me more respect for folks from Oz.

I'll assume that you aren't talking about me...

As the original topic I'm happy to gloat ;) Actually I just started racing two weeks ago and have done two crits so far. They are fun, but I am a sucky sprinter because all my riding so far (like the last 5 years) has just been hills and long steady distance stuff. Maybe road racing will be more my cup of tea.

The Sydney weather def beats that in Adelaide... I remember a few early morning rides in the winter where it was 2C when I left home... and probably close to 0 once you get up Norton Summit.

You wouldn't happen to be the same Daniel S that beat me up Norton Summit in the PACC ride this week, would you? ;)

Why would you do that? Isnt your username 'Brian'? Shouldnt I simply use that?

No! I meant to make it up there but couldn't get out of work in time :( I will be there for the next one though I hope...

Looking at the results... the other Daniel S looks pretty quick I don't think he's in any danger from this Daniel S

nice to see a forum mod stooping to personal insults. looks like the fox got into the henhouse again. then again, maybe wan ker is not an insult, and merely a statement of the truth. how about that, septic? on the money or what?

patentcad 11-23-07 03:59 AM

The complete lack of a relaxing Hot Stove Off-Season from competitive cycling is no reason to gloat. Mate.

Freezing your ass off in sub 20ºF temps while putzing along @ 15mph worrying about black ice RULES.

Oh I remember now. You are that goose who came to Melbourne (and couldn't even spell it) for the Around the Bay Community Ride and tried to pretend it was a race. Did ya win??? Didn't they throw bottles at you as well?

Unlucky. How about that Urdacsrdown? On the money or what?
