Dirty Dozen - this Saturday in Pittsburgh
Anyone doing it?
Unfortunately I forgot my handy-dandy 11-28 cassette in Michigan, where it's sitting in my living room waiting to be loaded into the car. Currently I have a 11-21 (Michigan gearing) on the bike. So I'll be hitting the LBS's tomorrow... |
Yeah, It will be my first time. I have ridden 9 of the 13 hills so I know what to expect. If you are not trying for points I suggest you take it easy and save some energy for the next hills.

Well, I just installed my 12-27. I'll be on the silver Motobecane that looks like it's slowly going in reverse.
|
So how did you do?
It was amazing seeing all those riders climbing up the hills. I heard someone say, "It's like critical mass with 13 hill races thrown in". I made it up all the hills without putting a foot down, but I was dead tired during the last hill. http://randomprecisionphoto.com/word.../ddcanton3.jpg http://randomprecisionphoto.com/word...1/ddrialto.jpg a few pictures at: randomprecisionphoto.com |
My first time, and I beat that F%cker! Can't wait until next year.
|
I actually thought Canton was the easiest. I believe I had to stop on two hills - one when I got into wet leaves, another for a flipped bike. Finished 22nd in the points, which I didn't think was bad considering I'm 15 lbs overweight and knew nothing about the start/finish line on 12 out of 13 hills...
