Cervelo Team Soloist Matte Black or Silver/Red?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cervelo Team Soloist Matte Black or Silver/Red?

I am about to pull the trigger on a Cervelo entry level bike...as much as I want the SLC-SL, my budget is only for the alum.

Guys I need your help, I like the matte black cervelo team soloist but the Silver/red also looks hot as well.

Can anyone post pics of their black team soloist? Any silver/red out there?

Soloist Team, funny contradictory name

Cervelo page has gun silver and silver/red on their ST page. Do other years come in black?

the black color is not currrently displayed on any internet bike shops. the silver/red is currently at the website as an alternative option.

Here's some of the older Soloist Team's in the black. I have it as well. I don't like the new matte colour.

A friend showed up to our turbo session last night with a new P3-SL in matte black. It certainly looks sharp, but there are a lot of black Cervelos in this world.

Anyone want to post a picture of the red one here so I can be lazy and not go find it myself?

And isn't pink the new black this season?

British winters are bleak enough as it is without the women of the nation dressed bleakly too. I'll take pink over black.

But just in case, there's always Terry's 'simply pink' section!

Not a fan of the new matte black either. The silver/red combo would probably look pretty sharp once it's built up!

Personally - I'm in love with that black frame and have been for a while. The new silver/red or grey frames colors are the reason I went used for a Soloist.

If you can find a black one - buy it.

You'll prob save some cash by going used, and saved cash is always a good thing when you end up with the same quality product.

The Black one is anodized, the silver and red one is paint.
I have the black, a friend has the other.
His has chips, mine does not.

Black or Grey Team soloists are not painted, they are anodized. I had a black team, it was awesome and the anodizing was very tough. I sold it for a very small loss.
The new silver/red frankly looks like 100 other bikes out there. count on 100g+ heavier for the paint.

The black frames are from '05 & '06 IIRC (mine was an '06). You could try calling around to random bike shops to see if anyone has a NOS available.... ebay of course too.
