Grisham's latest Novel Playing for Pizza. A read about an NFL Quarterback who adventures to Italia to play a season of American Football there.

Most every page parallels my time in Italia prior to, and triggered my involvment in cycling.

Post college, and a handful of NFL attempts, I made my way over there for a season, and an adventure. Apparently Grisham did some research on the adventures of American players who head to Italia for what turned out to be for me the start of a 20 year love affair with the country, castles, culture, food, and road riding.

A fun read, and fascinating to enjoy an entire novel that feels like a narrative on your own experiences.

This is one of my favorite climbs on our tour of three regions. Usually it is part of the loop we ride on the second day.

It's really cool to see our riders hit the Tuscan border near this road. The other photos on our link are from Tuscany as well. I'm already getting excited for next summers tour.

All this because I got to coach and play "free safety" Football Americano!
