Campy record: not made in Italy?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Campy record: not made in Italy?

I have seen most Campy Record crankset with "Made in Italy" stamped on it, and I have seen a few without it (saw this at LBS). So some are made in Italy and some not?

I also heard that Campy do have a "lower version" of Record for Asian market. Is that true?

Picture of Record crank from Competitive Cyclist doesn't have "Made in Italy"

Other picture with "Made in Italty"

Could it be that not all campy stuff is handmade by magical little Italian elves.

What is the world coming to.

Campy makes in season changes that go undocumented. So what is far more likely is that someone in Italy decided to change it and no one was notified.
