Vacation Ride Report
For thanksgiving, I went down to my parents place in Asheville NC and of course had to ride, no matter what the conditions since I my normal rides take me about a week to do the same amount of climbing.
And here is the ride...

Thursday, the first half was a little less steep (but same high point) since I went on the blue ridge parkway the whole ascent, vs 151? on Saturday.
The climb is non stop for 4 miles at an average of 7.5% grade and the remainder of the climb on brp is another 2.5 miles at 6.5% grade. For 6.5 miles, you actually don't lose a single foot, or ever have a grade lower then 1%
Here is the elevation profile for 151.

Thursday, at about 3,000 feet, I ran into the clouds, where it was raining, so I had a wet long climb. The part that sucked was on the decent on 151, the road is SUPER twisty, so with the mix of wet pavement and leaves, I had to be on the brakes almost constantly, so by the time I got to the bottom, I was freezing. Saturday was dry, but in the 20's near the top, so the fast descents were pretty frigid.

ascent, but I just have the demo. It makes pretty cool graphs, but I am not sure if I like usability.

On Thanksgiving, I took the BRP (mm 390ish?) near Candler to the park and hike at the top of Pisgah, then down the BRP to 151, and down 151 to the 19/23
Saturday, I went 19/23, up 151 to the BRP, back to the Pisgah park and hike, and then turned around and rode the same route home. I kinda wished I would have ridden the BRP all the way home both days because 151 is so twisty, thursday it was so wet, I was just white knuckling my brakes all the way down, and saturday it was pretty cold, so I didn't trust my tires as much as I did when I rode that rode over memorial day.

That's an awesome pic. Pretty awesome numbers. Congrats. I use Ascent too, and I like it so far, but I also use the Training Center sometimes to just kind of dump the memory from my 305 onto it. Anyways, that's a gnarly climb.
