2004 giant ocr3 for $250?
Hey all,
I'm new to road cycling and am looking to purchase my first road bike soon. Today I have an opportunity to buy a giant ocr 3 (composite fork) that fits me for $250. The seller says that it is in excellent condition and 3 years old. Is this worth it, or should I ask for a lower price?
Thanks! I really appreciate your help!

I'm pretty sure the bike has not been crashed. The person selling it said that she never rode it. We work at the same institution, so I feel that I can trust her word. I'm pretty much looking for an inexpensive but good road bike, and $250 seems to be the best offer I've found. Any tips on how to inspect the bike besides seeing if the crank, head, and wheels rattle?

Throw the stick!!!!
That sounds like an awesome deal to me, as long as it fits of course. Even if the crank has a creak or the headset is loose it's still a great deal. Those things are easy to fix. I'm not sure why the wheels would rattle though unless it had a broken nipple in it. Even then it would be an easy fix.

Buying used is always a gamble...be it bike, car, house whatever.
Sometimes you gotta roll the dice.
Having it professionally inspected may put your mind at rest...although there's still no gaurantee.
