What would you pick?
I have 2 used bikes in mind and both seem to be a good deal assuming the in person review and test ride goes well.
Felt F60 - $500 -2004 (miles are not known but the pictures looks like it is in good condition) - there is a computer that I may be able to check. -105 & Ultegra mix (9 speed) -carbon seat stays http://www.feltracing.com/06/04/2004_bikes/f60.html 2008 Motobecane Le Champion SL - $750 -this is a new bike but he bought it and it was sized wrong but has been trying to get rid of it for 30 days or so -Ultegra (10 speed) http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/.../lechamp08.htm I am also looking at some 2007 Trek 1500's on ebay but they will likely be closer to 600-700 with shipping and I am still nervous about a big purchase on ebay. I like the way both look. The brand name does not mean much to me. The $750 is really out of the budget I wanted to be in. That alone probably should exclude it but I have the $ and if it is really worth it, I could do it. http://www.rpesolutions.com/images/matt/felt1.jpg See the Moto link for pictures and full specs. Thanks!!!! |
As long as it fits, I’d go for the Felt and then take the extra $250 down to your LBS for shopping spree.
|
Felt.
Go now. |
Moto! Assuming everything comes as it does from the box from BD, the extra $250 is well worth the 10 speed Ultegra, wheels, cockpit, and everything else..
Felt also looks like a triple....whereas the Moto is a compact.....personally, I'm not a fan of triples because compact takes care of me....so think about that..... |
I'd jump that Felt in a second.
|
Defiantly the Felt. Even if you need a new chain and cassette.
|
I've felt a Felt, you should too.
|
feeling the Felt.
|
Great price on the Moto. Really light. Great group. Heck, get it and swap teh group to an even better frame later if you must, but you may well like that bike a lot.
|
Thanks everyone. On Sat, I decided that the Moto was beyond my price limit so it really was not an option although it was a good value....
I went to see the Felt on Sunday and purchased it. It came with the $175 Giro as a bonus and had a wireless computer. Here is the purchase report. http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...=1#post5744528 |
^^
you mean to say that you got a $175 helmet with the bike? |

Felt. I'm jealous if you get it.

I'd hop on the Felt any day of the week for that price. I think those were selling for about 1200 new at the time. I paid 580 for my F90 with sora shifters. One of the best bikes I've owned to boot!!!

You should have done a poll with this, but it looks like about 90% for the Felt. Everyone that has one swears by them, so that speaks pretty strongly of them.
|
Thanks everyone. I did get the Felt. You can be jealous now. :)

Felt, as if it hasn't been said enough already. Good choice.
