+1 - Paletti had a magical geometry - great handling, but soft enough for all-day riding. Keep on crowing about your ride - it is hard to find better...

Chesini X-Uno, A Restored Italian
Restored Chesini X-Uno originally purchased as a frame, long since depleted of it's forks, componentry and other parts.
Over a three year period - restored the frame, fully rebuilt with NOS Campagnolo C-Record componentry and various parts are "Chesini" pantographed.

I'm building this -

Got the headset and BB/cranks installed today, the rest of the group will be applied this weekend, just waiting on handlebars.
This will be my distance/touring/fendered/sprung seat ride. I'm excited.

I really like that frame. Love the colour and the chrome lugs.
What fork are you putting on it? Kona makes a nice straight legged steel fork that looks good.

Here it is with the fork/BB/Headset/seatpost in.

Obviously nothing is really adjusted. Please forgive the soup cans, I could think of no other way to prop it up while keeping the crank from gouging the floor/carpet.

That Chesini, red/white frame posted above, is breathtaking. Holy Smokes. I don't know that I would be willing to ride it for fear of getting it dirty.

My Waterford Schwinn Paramount. Purchased the frame from Ben's cycle in Milwaukee. It was on consignment from a worker at the Waterford factory that built it for himself but when Schwinn filed bankruptcy he thought he would be out of a job. No serial number but I built it up with Dura Ace and dumped the gold plated ford for a carbon (sorry) and it rides like a dream.
I'll take some better photos when we get some nice sun but here are some flash photos.

Holy craparoni, OMG, etc, etc. That bike is phenomenal.
What kind of bar tape is that? And the bars?
That white crank w/ red Campag logo is unearthly.

Handlebars are 3ttt (Tecno Tubo Torino) Competizione - Merckx bend

Handlebar tape is Ciclolinea Pelten Shade, one of the popular handlebar tapes of the 80's. Ciclolinea Shade handlebar tape was available in Blue/Red/Black/Yellow.

The red "Campagnolo" is painted on in the same colour as the frame.
