Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Got this frame set a couple of weeks ago for a good price on Ebay, build will be a project through the Winter. I'm going with a modern build - probably Athena. I think it'll be a really fun ride.

Just picked up this fine machine. It's a '02 Cervelo Prodigy. Took this today while I was out on its first official shake down run. After nearly going head first over the bars because I forgot to tighten the stem and getting a flat from picking up a piece of glass, I'm happy to report that she rides super nice. Possibly a better ride quality than my R3.

First Post: restoring 2 vintage peugeot Steel Bikes from 1973.
One is the famous pa 10 Le or px 10 or p 10
and was purely made up to a Fixie...:-( so i decided to go for the original Look und components.

Components:
mafac Center pull brakes and levers
simplex Prestige competition rear and front derailleur and shifters
atax, lyotard, bocama, San remo, cinelli, parts...
m

Second bike Peugeot U08 also from 1973
rusty body and Loose cables... but all original parts i think

so i Started restoring.. See some pics

Wow is that a 3 speed? That's the first time I've ever seen that setup. Looks like a ton of fun for sure!

Yep... was a popular setup on these first year models here and works pretty well as I don't need any lower gearing than what it has. I am putting in an order for another wheel with a cassette hub so I can play with that as well.

I like the custom build.

The only issue is in the headtube badge. The dots are too far down on the body of the clef (almost look like they'd be around the D line instead of the F line), and the bottom one is closer to the body than the top one.

YOJiMBO, great eye! I noticed it to right off the bat, but was reluctant to say anything because it is already on the head tube, and probably too late to change. I feel it is partly my fault, as I did not give specific instructions as to where the dots should be placed.

That being said, I plan on riding the sh%t out of her, so i probably won't be all that worried about the dots.

His frames ride like a dream.

I like the blue and white paint job, Pringle!

I recently added this '12 Breezer Venturi to the stable, decked out in a retro, 35th anniversary blue/white paint scheme and Campy Athena 11spd:

It's made with Breeze's proprietary hydroformed D'Fusion steel tubes, into what is claimed to be the World's first post-weld heat treated, hydroformed steel road frame. All I know for sure is that it rides very sweetly indeed!

The geometry is quite sporty, but at the same time, it delivers a very stable and surefooted feel. I've only got fewer than 100 miles on it, so I'm really looking forward to winter breaking and spring coming on!

I dig it. Minor suggestion: I think a black (carbon) stem would balance the seatpost and crankset.
