Opinions of Motobecane Frames
I am looking to buy a roadbike on a budget that will last a long time and possibly be upgrade worthy in the future. I was wondering how the Motobecane Record/Mirage Pro frames stack up to more "name brand" entry level frames such as felt z90, what trek's new 1000 is, Giant OCR3, etc beyond bikesdirect's
"Compare this bike to the Trek 1000 at $700 to $800 plus tax. Both bikes have the same 24 speed Shimano parts, both have carbon forks and aluminum frames, both have butted aluminum frames".
I'm really not interested in The motobecane mirage or windsor leeds as their 1" headset makes the frame obsolete the moment you buy it. Any opinions would be appreciated. And yes, I tried searching. The search function is down right now.
Edit: Shoulda said any non bikesdorect comments

i hear the m'becanes are decent, but i HATE bikedirect's marketing practices (false adverts, essentially)
btw, you can use google to search bikeforums, although it will search the whole site, not just a given forum.

(query syntax is "site:bikeforums.net KEYWORD")

I have a Moto mountian bike, and it's fine. Mine is made by Kinesis.
https://www.kinesisbikes.co.uk/about.php
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motobecane_USA
https://www.kinesis.com.tw/
Check some of these out, and I think you'll see this company makes frames that many companies use.
The marketing is a little odd, I will agree to that.

I was looking for the best bike in the whole world.
Then several of my friends, all Euro pros, decided to buy such a bike for me - a 'Motobecane'.
The box arrived a few days later in great condition. I opened the box and everything was well packed.
However I did notice that some of the 'made in taiwan' stickers were peeling, but I managed to press them back securely on the frame. This was obviously a huge disappointment, but I'm sure I'll manage somehow.
I assembled the rest of the bike in about 15 mins.
Riding that evening, it was true, the best bike I'd ever ridden.
Soon I will be racing with my cycling friends in Europe.
