I saw a leaf move. Not riding.

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The ride this morning was in the 40's. Brisk, but sunny... definitely not complaining. Baselayers rule.

It was 29F and breezy at 5AM this morning. The temp has gone up, about 45F now, but the clouds have come in and the wind has really picked up. It's roller time!

Around 40, raining heavy enough to flood the roads and checked the headwind at the weather station at the mid way point and it was 50mph. Thank goodness it was a tail wind home. 20 miles and I was soaked.

21F here. Only got 21.3 miles in due to the freezing rain. My glasses iced over and I couldn't scrape it off.

It's been in the low 30s here, so I ordered rollers early this week. They came Thu. and I've been riding 'em every day since. I must be excited to master them, b/c I passed up on riding outside on a 43 deg. sunny day in order to roller away in the basement. That's a veritable heat-wave 'round these parts in Dec.

My first winter riding the bike, and I have to admit, I don''t enjoy it much below the low 40s. I can manage it, but I just long for that feeling of open-ness you get with lighter clothing and clearer roads.
However, I really do enjoy riding in the 40s -- it's a diff't animal from the 60s and 70's, but I like it.

I think I got a touch of heat exhaustion today. I wasn't feeling so good the last few miles of my 70-miler today after it made it over 80 F.
